Job Scope:

  • Accurately calculate and process employee payroll, including wages, overtime, tax withholdings, benefits, sick leave, and other deductions.
  • Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure correctness and compliance with payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR to update payroll data, handle new hires, terminations, and other employee status changes.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll tax returns, reports, and ensure payroll compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage payroll systems and software, including direct deposits and paycheck distribution.
  • Conduct payroll audits and maintain documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR departments to reconcile payroll data, benefits, and tax information.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies, procedures, and labor law compliance.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, workplace conflict resolution, and employee development programs.
  • Administer compensation, benefits enrollment, and coordinate training sessions.
  • Act as a central point of contact for employees and management regarding HR queries and support.
  • Prepare HR documents (e.g. JO, EC and other HR documents), HR reports on headcount, turnover, compensation, and diversity metrics to assist strategic decision-making

Requirements:

  • Education level typically ranges from associate's to bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or business administration.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll tax laws, labor regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll, managing garnishments, and payroll reconciliation.
  • Proven knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and effective communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and payroll systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different departments and maintain confidentiality.
  • Often requires previous HR experience, particularly in generalist roles handling multiple HR facets.
