Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced
Chief Accountant
who has experience in Audit and Tax Compliance to oversee the local accounting team and ensure the organization's financial and regulatory integrity. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, hands-on experience in internal or external audit, and practical knowledge in managing BIR compliance and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the local accounting team, ensuring effective execution of financial operations, compliance tasks, and audit readiness. Provide mentorship, performance oversight, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Audit Oversight:

  • Spearhead internal audit initiatives and coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits. Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of corrective actions. Preferably with experience from a reputable audit firm.

Financial Statement Preparation:

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of complete sets of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

BIR Compliance and Coordination:

  • Manage all BIR-related matters including tax compliance, reporting, and coordination during audits or assessments. Ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation and maintain strong working relationships with BIR representatives.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain organized records of audit reports, financial statements, and BIR correspondences. Prepare periodic reports and updates for senior management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA license is required.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing accounting or finance teams.
  • Relevant experience in internal or external audit, preferably from a reputable audit firm.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and BIR regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
