This role is based in Dublin, Ireland. Our client is a Electronic Repair company that diagnoses, repairs, reworks and tests all types of PCD Boards and Industrial Electronic Devices. You need to have strong experience in component repair of a range of electronic devices.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Debug Technician
to join our electronics manufacturing and test team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with
surface-mount technology (SMT)
,
electronic circuit debugging
, and
power inverter systems
. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronic assemblies to ensure product quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electronic boards and modules down to component level.
  • Perform debugging and failure analysis on
    SMT and through-hole PCBs
    .
  • Conduct functional and in-circuit testing (ICT, FCT) of electronic assemblies.
  • Analyze and resolve defects found during production, test, or field returns.
  • Work closely with test engineers to identify recurring faults and propose design or process improvements.
  • Operate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Troubleshoot
    power inverter
    circuits and power electronics (DC/AC, DC/DC converters).
  • Record all test results, repairs, and rework actions in production tracking systems.
  • Maintain ESD-safe working practices and adhere to quality and safety standards (ISO, IPC, etc.).

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in
    Electronics Engineering
    ,
    Electrical Engineering
    , or related field.
  • 3+ years
    of experience in electronics debug or test technician roles.
  • Strong understanding of
    SMT processes
    , soldering, and component rework.
  • Professional (to IPC standards) soldering expertise on PTH and SMT technologies?
  • Experience with
    power electronics
    and
    inverter systems
    (IGBTs, MOSFETs, DC link capacitors, etc.).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting
    electronic schematics and PCB layouts
    .
  • Skilled in using standard electronic test and measurement instruments.
  • Ability to reverse engineer products.
  • Experience working with 3 phase power equipment
  • Experience in Can Bus, ProfiBus, RS232 or other and know how to diagnose/simulate faults on them
  • Ability reading /writing to different types of EProms/Flash and/or programmable device
