Hydraulic Technician

Crane Hydraulic Technicians are skilled professionals that are required to Troubleshoot, install, replace, and provide services for various systems and equipment. They should be proficient in the relevant skills and techniques necessary for the intended field.

Hydraulic Technicians inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot various hydraulic systems and equipment. They run tests, interpret results, and make recommendations to fix faulty or broken components. Hydraulic technicians should be proficient in reading and understanding hydraulic drawings, be able to identify components and their function, provide parts recommendations and specifications and write clear concise reports.

Hydraulic Technicians must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the:

  • Dangers associated with high pressure hydraulic systems.
  • Proper handling of hydraulic components and importance of system cleanliness
  • Fluid dynamics and the physics associated with fluid behavior when under pressure.

It is also his role to consult with the Hydraulic supervisor on repair and safety-related issues, completing appropriate documentation and parts recommendations, monitor day-to-day activities, repairs, and remote and onboard troubleshooting of crane mechanical systems, supports the vessel dry dock projects.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 college technical qualification (or higher).
  • Additional job-related training courses are advantageous.
  • Must be apprentice-trained or equivalent and fully conversant with electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Must have Philippine or Overseas certifications related to his/her function.
  • Minimum 5 years in the crane industry is preferred; experience within the crane industry essential.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Attitude, Punctuality, and time keeping.
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Possess a good understanding of health & safety in the workplace.
  • Analytical skills
  • Good understanding of written & spoken English.
  • Possess good computer skills.
  • Able to use test equipment, analyze, and understand recorded data.
  • Possess industry related knowledge, experience and proficient in the relevant skills and techniques necessary for the intended field.
