Job Summary

The Assistant General Counsel supports the General Counsel in managing legal and operational matters affecting the Company. The role involves reviewing and drafting contracts, handling litigation, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting legal due diligence, and addressing animal welfare–related cases involving partner Animal Welfare Groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, draft, and revise contracts, memoranda, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Represent the Company before courts, quasi-judicial bodies, and administrative agencies.
  • Prepare pleadings and manage assigned litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform legal due diligence related to property acquisitions.
  • Handle animal welfare concerns and provide legal support to partner Animal Welfare Groups.
Competencies
  • Strong understanding of legal terminologies, procedures, and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine laws on contracts and litigation.
  • Excellent research, writing, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications
Work Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant or similar role, ideally in manufacturing or construction industries.
  • Strong background in contracts and litigation.
Education & Licensure
  • Law graduate (LLB/JD).
  • Member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines with updated MCLE compliance.
