  1. Recognition, Detection, and Identification of hazards and safety problems

a. Inspects worksites, reports conditions and practices not in compliance with occupational safety and health standards, codes and regulations;

b. Observes operations and activities, reports unsafe acts and behaviors;

c. Investigates accidents, near misses, and safety-related problems;

d. Identifies applicable hazards from analysis of accident reports, reports from TDJV and external sources;

e. Identifies elements of the risk management manual not being implemented;

f. Prepares hazard analysis of work methods and procedures;

g. Determines hazards and causes of safety problems;

h. Records hazards and safety concerns discussed in committee meetings;

  1. Evaluation of accidental risks

a. Evaluates risks of recognized hazards to determine priorities of corrective actions and levels of concern;

b. Communicates promptly high-level risks to concerned parties;

c. Recommends to immediately stop operation/activity in case of imminent danger;

  1. Corrective Action/Improvement Programs

a. Recommends to line management/supervision that corrective actions be taken to corresponding hazards and problems identified;

b. Reviews the corrective actions of the manager/supervisor to ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations. Recommends revisions or improvements as called for;

  1. Safety Programs/Training Implementation

a. Provides assistance in implementing safety program corrective actions;

b. Conducts safety trainings;

c. Provides safety information, advice, and recommendations as required;

d. Sets a good safety example at all times;

e. Positively influences management to take required safety actions;

  1. Risk Control Measures

a. Verifies reports status of action items:

i. Inspection reports

ii. Observation reports

iii. Accident investigation reports

iv. Hazard analysis reports

v. Safety committee minutes

vi. Safety referral reports

b. Provides meaningful safety statistics and safety performance measurements on a periodic basis;

  1. Coordination

a. Maintains timely and useful communication with project management and with TDJV EHS department;

  1. Technical Efficiency

a. Keeps abreast with developments in the safety profession;

b. Keeps updated about construction hazards as obtained from the news media, publications, and other forms of communication; and

  1. Others

a. Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
