About the role

SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Meycauayan City, Bulacan. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our employees across our construction operations. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols to protect our workforce and contribute to the overall success of the company.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive safety policies and programs to mitigate risks and foster a culture of safety
  2. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits to identify and address potential hazards
  3. Provide training and education to employees on safety best practices, emergency procedures and the use of personal protective equipment
  4. Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards
  6. Collaborate with project managers, supervisors and workers to address safety concerns and promote safe work habits
  7. Maintain detailed records and documentation related to safety activities and performance metrics
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes in occupational health and safety

What we're looking for

  1. A bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry
  3. Thorough knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards
  4. Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills to identify and mitigate risks
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees at all levels
  6. Proficiency in conducting safety audits, incident investigations and data analysis
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive continuous improvement in safety performance

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sanitation Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 year experience in related field
