The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all purchasing activities for our chocolate manufacturing operation in Laguna. This strategic role requires a keen understanding of the cocoa and raw material markets, strong negotiation skills, and a proven trackability in optimizing supply chain costs while ensuring the highest quality standards for our premium chocolate products.

Key Responsibilities

I. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for all critical raw materials, including cocoa beans, cocoa butter, sugar, milk solids, packaging materials, and indirect goods and services.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, mitigate supply risks, and identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and long-term contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and quality agreements with local and international suppliers to secure the best total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Implement and manage a robust vendor performance monitoring system (VPM) based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

II. Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition and purchase order generation to delivery and invoice reconciliation, ensuring adherence to internal policies and financial controls.
  • Collaborate closely with the Production, Quality Assurance, and R&D teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely and quality-compliant delivery.
  • Ensure all procured materials comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO) and relevant Philippine regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA).
  • Oversee inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs.

III. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the local procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its key supplier base, building strong, collaborative, and ethical relationships.
