Job title: Accounting Officer

Job Description

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and analyses as required by management.
  • Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
  • Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with government regulations.
  • Monitor tax obligations and ensure timely remittance.
  • Payroll Processing: Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll calculations and disbursements.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Policy Implementation: Enforce compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial support for operations and projects.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is a strong advantage.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and create meaningful reports.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report writing and liaising with other departments.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ethical Conduct:
  • Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Time Management:
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
