Architect

Job Summary:

Responsible for designing spaces that are safe, functional, sustainable and visually appealing. They meet with clients to understand their needs, create building plans and drawings, and work with engineers and contractors to bring the design to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create design concepts, lay outs, and detailed architectural designs based on client needs.
  • Ensure functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal in all designs
  • Meet with clients to understand their goals, budget, and requirements.
  • Present design proposals and make revisions based on feedback.
  • Develop project timelines, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate design phases from concept through construction.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, blueprints, and specifications using CAD and BIM software.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with local building codes and regulations.
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors to integrate all aspects of the design.
  • Attend coordination meetings to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Visit construction sites to ensure work is progressing according to plans.
  • Address any on-site challenges or design changes.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to zoning laws, building codes, safety standards, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable practices into architectural designs (where applicable).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Licensed Architect
  • Proficiency in architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up)
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction techniques
  • Strong design and visualization skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
