Job description:

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • The CCTV operator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining surveillance system to ensure the safety and security of of students, faculty, staff and university property. The role involves operating and managing CCTV cameras, responding to security incidents, reporting suspicious activities and assisting in investigations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage for suspicious activities
  • Respond to security alerts and coordinate with on-site security teams
  • Maintain security logs and report incidents
  • Ensure proper functioning of CCTV System and report issues
  • Handle surveillance data with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Follow university, policies, privacy laws, and security protocols to ensure the proper handling and confidentiality of surveillance data

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology , Information Technology or Industrial Engineer with security related certification is a plus
  • Experience in CCTV operations or security is preferred
  • Strong observational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and security protocols
