What your typical day will look like:
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Operations Head / Business Acquisition Lead to spearhead and scale our in-house production capabilities within dentsu. This role is ideal for a seasoned production professional—either from a small production house or with strong agency experience—who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the business and costing side of production, and can lead operational execution for smaller-scale, agile content initiatives, including live selling and TikTok production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations of 3 small-scale content studios within dentsu, focusing on efficient delivery of digital-first content (e.g., TikTok videos, live selling streams).
- Own studio costing and business management—ensuring financial feasibility and profitability of studio projects. Develop pricing structures and optimize resource allocation.
- Operate as the Producer for studio projects. Manage timelines, ensure production quality, and lead end-to-end project execution.
- Act as the main point of contact for internal clients across the dentsu network. Collaborate with marketing and account teams to translate briefs into agile, executable content.
- Work closely with dentsu's external tech partner to enable live selling capabilities and other technical production needs.
- Research, build, and maintain a network of smaller production houses and freelance production talent. Prioritize resourcefulness and reliability in partners.
- Play a key role in the expansion and positioning of the studio as a value-adding service for dentsu clients. Identify new business opportunities, especially within smaller-scale content production and marketing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, Producer, or in a senior role within a production house or marketing/creative studio.
- Agency experience with a strong understanding of production operations is a plus.
- Deep understanding of content production workflows (pre to post), costing, and client servicing.
- Comfortable working independently (IC role) while collaborating across multiple teams.
- Highly organized, resourceful, and solution-oriented—especially in lean or fast-moving environments.
- Entrepreneurial and strategic, with the ability to spot growth opportunities and drive studio performance.
- Adaptable and flexible; comfortable with building from the ground up.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with live selling platforms, short-form video production, and emerging content trends.
- Experience in sourcing and managing vendor relationships or building production teams.
