RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sanitation & Cleaning

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen
  • utensils according to health and safety standards.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, floors, walls, and surfaces to ensure proper hygiene.
  • Maintain cleanliness of stewarding areas, dishwashing stations, and garbage disposal health authorities.

Support for Kitchen & Service

  • Ensure that trash is collected, segregated, and disposed of properly
  • Follow sanitation and hygiene guidelines set by the restaurant and
  • Provide clean and sanitized tableware and kitchen tools promptly to
  • support service flow.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic preparation work when needed (e.g., peeling, chopping, or carrying supplies).
  • Deliver and collect kitchen equipment and utensils from service areas.
  • Replenish kitchen and service stations with clean utensils, plates, and glassware.

Equipment Handling

  • Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they are cleaned and
  • maintained properly.
  • Handle cleaning supplies and chemicals safely, following safety protocols.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to supervisors.

Inventory & Storage

  • Organize and store clean dishes, cutlery, and equipment properly in
  • designated areas.
  • Maintain proper stock levels of cleaning supplies, detergents, and sanitizers.
  • Support stock rotation to minimize breakage, loss, or misuse of equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow safety protocols to prevent slips, falls, and accidents in the
  • kitchen area.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing such as gloves and aprons when handling chemicals or hot items.
  • Adhere to fire, health, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Participate in regular training and briefings on hygiene and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in stewarding, housekeeping, or cleaning (advantage
  • but not always required).
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations is an advantage
