Direct message the job poster from FILSCAPWe are looking for an ambitious, hard-working and driven LEGAL COUNSEL with an interest in litigation and dispute resolution in the music industry, particularly in the field of music copyright and collective rights management. The Legal Counsel is primarily expected to handle a high volume of civil, criminal, and administrative cases, mainly copyright infringement and collection cases, and to coordinate with external legal counsel, under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel and

General Counsel. The Legal Counsel may also be called upon to handle compliance, corporate and transactional work in case needed. Duties and Responsibilities:The Legal Counsel shall be under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel and

General Counsel, and shall:recommend, initiate, and handle civil, criminal, administrative, and other cases for the Society under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel and General Counsel;develop and execute internal protocols on handling accounts and pending cases under the Legal Department;coordinate with and manage external counsel(s) engaged to litigate cases for the Society;periodically report and recommend action on the status of accounts and pending cases;conduct formal administrative labor investigations and address other labor concerns of the Society;perform corporate housekeeping duties, including attending meetings, as well as drafting and preparation of minutes of meetings, resolutions, and similar documents;draft, review, and/or negotiate licenses and other agreements;monitor, review and ensure compliance of the Society with applicable laws and regulations;provide legal advice to the Society's members, Board of Trustees, Committees, and management;coordinate with relevant departments, offices and other parties as may be necessary in the performance of duties and functions;coordinate with other local and internal societies or rights management entities, CISAC, and other international bodies;advocate and lobby for laws and regulations in the interest of rightsholders, including preparing position papers and attending hearings or public consultations;perform functions and assigned duties in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and in accordance with Society and Department policies and procedures;perform other necessary or related tasks or duties as may be assigned from time to time by superiors. Key QualificationsQualified to practice law in the Philippines with at least five (5) years of post-qualification experience

Possesses significant litigation experience, and has experience in handling a large volume of cases and accounts (experience in copyright infringement cases is desirable but not required)Possesses strong grasp of remedial law

Experience in labor and employment laws is desirable

Graduate of a reputable law school with outstanding academic record

Member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the PhilippinesSeniority level
