OCEAN PRICING SPECIALIST

CLIENT: USA; REMOTE

TYPE: FULL TIME; INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Pricing Specialist with strong knowledge of ocean export operations and hands-on experience using CargoWise. The role is responsible for managing rate requests, negotiating with carriers and agents, preparing customer quotations, and ensuring pricing accuracy and competitiveness. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the ocean freight market, export regulations, and customer service standards in the logistics and freight forwarding industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, analyze, and respond to customer rate requests for ocean export shipments.
  • Source and negotiate competitive rates with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, and overseas agents.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
  • Maintain and update pricing records, tariffs, and contracts within CargoWise.
  • Collaborate with the sales, operations, and customer service teams to support business growth.
  • Monitor market trends and carrier service offerings to recommend pricing strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant international trade and export regulations.
  • Provide support to operations teams in resolving pricing or rate-related issues.
  • Generate reports and analysis for management on pricing trends and performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in ocean export pricing or freight forwarding.
  • Hands-on experience with CargoWise is required.
  • Strong understanding of ocean freight export documentation, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Work from Home Requirements (Must have before the start date)

  • Internet Connection : Min of 30 mbps wired internet connection speed AND a backup internet connection (before start date)
  • Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a working computer with updated current programmes from home with Dual Monitors
  • Noise Canceling Headset (Plantronics)
  • Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
  • Must be comfortable working with a Monitoring Software (for payroll and timekeeping purposes only)
  • Webcam - Contractors must have a working webcam

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php47,000.00 per month
