Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant – Audit is responsible for supporting internal audit activities by performing clerical and basic accounting tasks related to reviewing financial records, verifying transactions, preparing audit schedules, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role ensures accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of financial data to assist the audit team in identifying discrepancies or potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:1. Audit Support
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and reviewing financial documents required for internal audits.
- Help in verifying the accuracy of transactions and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing audit workpapers, schedules, and summary reports.
2. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain organized records of audit findings, supporting documents, and working papers.
- Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of all audit-related documents in both digital and physical formats.
3. Transaction Review
- Check the completeness and accuracy of invoices, receipts, and financial entries.
- Help identify inconsistencies, errors, or unusual transactions and report findings to the Audit Supervisor.
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Support the evaluation of internal controls and assist in monitoring adherence to financial procedures.
- Help flag any non-compliance issues and recommend improvements where applicable.
5. Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of audit summaries and documentation for management.
- Generate reports as needed to support the audit and accounting team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related field (fresh graduates are welcome).
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, audit, or bookkeeping is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and audit procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
