Business Development Officer

This position plays a key role in identifying, developing, and supporting new revenue-generating opportunities for Miriam College. It aims to contribute to the financial viability of the institution through the pursuit of opportunities that support institutional growth and expand revenue streams.
It also contributes to the development of valuable student market data and profiles that are key considerations in enrollment management.
Duties and Responsibilities
A. Business Development
Work closely with the SBDO Director to ensure initiatives align with long-term plans and growth
Identify, research, and recommend new business opportunities that contribute to revenue generation and build on assets and strengths of the institution
Track, research, and analyze market trends, competitor activities and viability of business prospects to inform strategic decision-making and insure alignment with institutional goals
Prepare prospect concept papers and relevant information such as prospect case studies and investment cases
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders (corporate organizations, business expert resources, potential collaborators)
Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, agreements with selected business collaborators
Support the planning and execution of approved business development projects
Monitor business partnership performance, revenue tracking, and prepare regular viability reports
Maintain appropriate documentation of prospecting leads and partnerships
B. Enrollment Support
Identify student market prospects and arrange the conduct of appropriate market studies, in support of enrollment management initiatives
Participate in enrollment target-setting processes, in collaboration with the Finance Office and the Admissions office
Collaborate with SBDO cluster offices, in particular:
a) to support market entry strategies, design promotional planning and production of campaign and outreach materials,
b) in ensuring market-related data are inputs in strategic planning, in particular the enrollment management process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Business and marketing degrees, preferably at master's level
Experience:
Experience in business development, market research, or sales
Experience with educational institutions, non-profit and service-oriented organizations
Familiarity with the conduct of market research studies and proposal development
Preparation of business development materials
Competencies:
Commercial awareness with sensitivity to educational values
Strong writing and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical skills, with focus on data and trend analysis
Market research conduct
