We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee all financial and accounting operations for a growing RESTAURANT GROUP. The Accountant will ensure the accuracy of financial data, maintain compliance with tax and reporting requirements, and provide actionable insights that drive operational and financial performance. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and understands the unique financial dynamics of the hospitality or food & beverage industry.

Primarily on-site in an office or restaurant setting (Alabang or Makati)

Reports to the Managing Director of the Restaurant

Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement)
  • Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger and perform month-end/year-end closings
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and vendor account reviews
  • Analyze sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), and labor costs to identify trends
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Conduct internal audits and resolve discrepancies

Daily Accounting Operations

  • Manage full-cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, and payroll
  • Record all transactions accurately and maintain cash flow control
  • Process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and daily sales reconciliations
  • Oversee petty cash and ensure compliance with company procedures

Payroll & Labor Administration

  • Process payroll, including tips, deductions, and benefits
  • Track labor costs, overtime, and leave balances
  • Ensure compliance with labor and tax laws

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to track inventory levels
  • Analyze inventory variances and food/beverage cost ratios
  • Support cost control initiatives and vendor negotiations

Compliance & Taxation

  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns (sales, income, payroll)
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and government regulations
  • Assist with external audits and regulatory reviews

Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Generate financial reports and key performance metrics
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Present financial insights to management for informed decision-making

Collaboration with External Accountants

  • Coordinate with external auditors for tax filings and reporting
  • Provide documentation and implement process improvement recommendations

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and restaurant POS/accounting systems
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of restaurant accounting principles (COGS, inventory control)
  • Knowledge of Philippine tax laws and compliance

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry
  • CPA license is an advantage
