Assistant Finance Manager

Job description:
This role reports to the Finance Director.
Financial Management:
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets.
Review journals and ledgers, maintain Fixed Asset register, prepare costing, reconciliation, and produce monthly statutory financial reports such as forecast, cash flow, and other reports as applicable for internal business review and IFRS report package in an accurate and timely manner.
Monitor and analyze financial data to provide management with insights and recommendations for cost savings, revenue optimization, and risk mitigation.
Prepare the financial feasibility of projects, investments, or ventures.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
Team Management:
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient workflow within the department.
Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and encourage professional development.
Conduct financial analysis, financial insights, and planning, such as variance analysis, profitability analysis, trend analysis, pricing strategies, and cost optimization to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any identified issues.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, implementing necessary adjustments.
Systems and Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance system efficiencies, and improve overall financial operations.
Implement accounting software upgrades or new systems/processes ensuring smooth transitions and user training.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local Philippine accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modelling
- CPA qualification or progress towards certification preferred
