Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative R&D Specialist to assist in the formulation, testing, and improvement of cosmetic and household care products. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, documentation, and support for regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate should have experience or education in chemistry, pharmacy, or a related field and a passion for developing safe and effective personal and home care products for the Philippine market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Formulation & Testing

  • Assist in the development and formulation of new products including:

  • Cosmetics: Soaps, lotions, creams, shampoos, etc.

  • Household Products: Dishwashing liquids, detergents, surface cleaners, disinfectants etc.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and bench-scale formulation trials.
  • Perform physical, chemical, and stability testing on developed products.

2. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all experiments, formulations, and test results.
  • Prepare technical documents such as formulation sheets, test reports, and raw material specs.

3. Raw Material Handling

  • Weigh, measure, and prepare raw materials for laboratory testing.
  • Evaluate and compare new ingredients or alternatives provided by suppliers.
  • Assist in sourcing and reviewing technical data sheets and MSDS of raw materials.

4. Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Support the preparation of documents for Philippine FDA notifications and compliance.
  • Ensure all product development follows company SOPs and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

5. Production Support

  • Assist in pilot batching and provide technical support during production scale-up.
  • Coordinate with QA, production, and marketing to resolve product-related issues.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
  • Licensed Chemist or Pharmacist is an advantage, but not required.

Experience:

  • At least 1–3 years of experience in an R&D, laboratory, or formulation role in the cosmetics, personal care, or household products industry.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of formulation techniques for creams, liquids, gels, and emulsions.
  • Familiarity with raw materials used in cosmetics and home care.
  • Knowledge of product testing procedures (pH, viscosity, stability, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lab equipment use.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Lab-based work with occasional administrative and coordination tasks.
  • Standard working hours; may require occasional overtime for project deadlines.
  • Willing to work full-time and on-site at Novaliches, Quezon City.
  • Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm.
