JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Public Relations Specialist is responsible for developing and executing media strategies while organizing and managing PR events. This role requires a combination of strong communication skills, creativity, and organizational abilities to enhance the organization's public image and engage with key stakeholders effectively.

  1. Media Relations:

  2. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers to foster positive media coverage.

  3. Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to communicate news and events.

  4. Monitor media coverage and track mentions of the organization to assess public perception and inform future strategies.

  5. Coordinate media outreach for events, including inviting journalists and facilitating interviews with key spokespeople.

  6. Event Planning and Management:

  7. Plan, organize, and execute a variety of PR events, such as product launches, press conferences, and community engagement initiatives.

  8. Collaborate with internal teams to develop event themes, objectives, and promotional strategies.

  9. Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual needs, and registration processes.

  10. Ensure seamless on-site execution of events, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring a positive experience for attendees.

  11. Stakeholder Engagement:

  12. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and align event objectives with organizational goals.

  13. Foster relationships with community members and partners to enhance event impact.

  14. Evaluation and Reporting:

  15. Analyze the success of media outreach and events, gathering feedback to identify areas for improvement.

  16. Prepare reports summarizing media coverage, event outcomes, attendance, and overall effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in media relations, event planning, or public relations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across various levels.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and event planning software.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
