Senior Business Analyst

Overview

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and validating the business needs of stakeholders, including customers and end-users. The incumbent will perform stakeholder interviews and gather user requirements to determine the necessary technology solutions.

This role requires excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to aid the business in making informed technology decisions. The analyst will work closely with the Team/Platform Lead to explore technologies that can enhance business processes and optimize solution architecture. They will play a vital role in ensuring that IT comprehends the business's requirements and deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities1. Strategy, Planning, and Client Management

• Organize meetings and collaborate with product managers to determine product scope, vision, and roadmap.
• Write user stories, epics, and releases, including their characteristics.
• Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, and scenarios.
• Communicate and confirm requirements or application change requests with the product team for estimation and sizing.
• Work with stakeholders and the product team to prioritize collected requirements under the product backlog.
• Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for improvement.

2. Product Design and Development

• Define product features according to business needs.
• Lead user requirement analysis for product design by collaborating with the technical team.
• Manage and prioritize product backlog items and optimize release plans to meet client requirements.
• Support the product development team in achieving the objectives of each sprint or release cycle.

3. Production Support

• Participate in post–go-live maintenance planning, either in-house or through managed services, for new products.
• Coordinate with IT technical support teams to ensure the proper and efficient operation of assigned application systems.
• Respond promptly to and resolve major or critical incidents.
• Ensure that clients and stakeholders are informed of product status and progress.
• Regularly prepare and submit progress reports, including issues encountered, root cause analyses, and resource requirements.

4. Operational Management

• Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and adherence to standards.
• Perform effort estimation using the INVEST (Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Sized Appropriately, and Testable) approach.
• Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, functional specifications for developers and project teams.
• Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide development activities.
• Conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure correct interpretation.
• Translate user requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to stakeholders.
• Manage and track requirements throughout the project lifecycle, enforcing updates or refinements as necessary.
• Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements—verbally or in writing—to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure completion of all required documentation necessary to deploy applications or products.

Requirements and QualificationsEducation and Work Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of solid experience in business analysis.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and documenting business processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and testing IT applications.
• Proven experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
• Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Proven experience in business analysis for ServiceNow products.
• Strong understanding of how ServiceNow is utilized across business and technical domains.
• Experience in governance boards, committees, and workshops involving senior-level stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
• In-depth knowledge of product or platform governance and best practices.
• Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts.
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, and testing/quality assurance processes.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Technology Stack, including SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, Copilot, and emerging technologies such as ServiceNow and GenAI.
• Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform and Employee Center products.

Job Type: Fixed term

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Php90, Php100,000.00 per month
