Strategic Research Manager

Key Responsibilities
As the Strategic Research Manager, you will lead efforts to analyze customer data and deliver actionable insights, eventually driving key business decisions and enhancing healthcare outcomes. You will empower cross-functional teams with accurate and timely data, fostering deeper customer engagement and satisfaction. Your team will manage both internal member data and external data sources such as UAIs, FGDs, and product testing, providing a comprehensive understanding of market trends and consumer behavior. This role is key to maintaining a data-driven, customer-centric organization that remains competitive and responsive to market and customer needs.
- Business Strategy
- Analyzes financial, technological, and demographic factors that may impact current and future market needs and product offerings.
- Recommends changes to product lines and forecasts their effect on sales, expenses, profitability, and staffing.
- Market Research
- Identifies market demands and opportunities.
- Conducts research and analyzes findings to understand impacts and trends.
- Suggests suitable market research programs and external agencies as needed.
- Reviews data to assess market potential and penetration.
- Tracks financial, technological, and demographic factors affecting market and product needs.
- Surveys new product concepts.
- Prepares department statistics and reports for management.
- Monitors industry trends and competitors' products and market activities.
- Competitive Monitoring
- Designs, analyzes, and reports monthly competitive updates to management.
- Ensures data accuracy.
- Conducts field observations to monitor consumer behavior.
- Project Management
- Develops overall project plans, including timelines, costs, and structure.
- Monitors projects to ensure they are on time and cost-effective.
- Coordinates with teams to ensure efficient service and timely project delivery.
- Leadership
- Recommends plans, programs, budgets, and performance targets for the department.
- Execute and manage departmental activities to maximize employee productivity.
- Leads and supports team members' career development.
- Supervises and evaluates team performance.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Communications Research, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data management, analytics, or insights roles, preferably within the healthcare, insurance, or financial services industries.
- Proficient in research results presentation to stakeholders
- Experience in a customer-focused industry such as healthcare, insurance, financial services, or telecommunications is preferred.
Skills
- Research plan and methodology
- Qualitative Techniques - FGD moderation and analysis, In-depth interviews
- Quantitative research methodologies, including surveys both online and in person
- Questionnaire formulation
- Compilation of research results and analysis
- Composing the presentation and delivery to stakeholders
- Resourceful in data gathering using cost effective ways without sacrificing integrity
- Ability to track results for benchmarking
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in managing cross-functional projects and leading teams toward data-driven solutions.
