JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A CIVIL ENGINEERING SUPPORT
Qualifications as Civil Engineering Support:
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in civil engineering or environmental engineering.
- At least 1-4 years of experience in engineering or planning: civil engineering, environmental engineering, and/or water resources engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or equivalent.
- Strong technical modeling and design skills are required.
- Project management or leadership interest/experience
- Familiarity with project management or proposal preparation is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil3D software is an important requirement for this role.
- Experience with preparing environmental and water resources studies, including design (conceptual design, plans, specifications, cost estimates, etc.), documentation, and modeling.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in both technical and project-related tasks.
Your responsibilities as a Civil Engineering Support would be:
- Perform civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, and Green Infrastructure design.
- Assist with environmental studies, sustainability, and resiliency projects.
- Prepare water resources and environmental technical reports and respond to team and client feedback.
- Assist in the setup and organization of hydrology/water quality and hydraulics models, floodplain studies, green infrastructure and stormwater designs, and resiliency and sustainability planning documents. Reading and understanding of design plans or as-built drawings.
- Work on GIS analysis and exhibits (depending on GIS skills).
- Contribute to project management tasks, proposal preparation, and demonstrate leadership potential when collaborating with teams and clients.
