Equipment Engineer

Job Description:

The Equipment Engineer has sufficient knowledge to facilitate commissioning, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical production equipment of SPT [Phil.] Clark Corporation and assist in any Machine Improvement and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct equipment performance test and write reports to justify the required improvements or to confirm that the equipment fulfills the production requirements (buy-off).
• Able to design mechanical parts and use 2D/3D-CAD to produce parts drawings.
• Be able to make use of automation and PLC programming software to support machine troubleshooting and rectifications.
• Suggest improvements to machines and the production, requalification, and service processes.
• Support maintenance technicians on machine setup and programing as the need arises.
• Become familiar with SPT equipment and processes. For group of machines used in SPTPH, be the interface engineer between SPTPH and Corporate engineering in Switzerland / USA.
• Keep, and continually update, Production Machine Records which includes, but is not limited to, Production Machine Master List, delivery receipts, upgrade history, commissioning records, preventive maintenance records, machine drawings, machine software versions and machine parts master list.
• Ensures that all equipment is operating at optimum conditions, and within defined process requirements based on set specifications provided by the Production Engineering and Quality Assurance Department, by regularly checking and monitoring production machines' daily operation and abnormality records. Malfunctions and operational deviations serve as a basis for improvement plans and proposals to Corporate Engineering Team.
• Keep track of spare parts and consumable items withdrawn from the store as basis for tool life and stock level reviews and recommendations.
• Update Machine Preventive Maintenance Schedules and implement changes as needed to continually improve the Preventive Maintenance Practices.
• Support operator and specialist training in proper operation and care of equipment.
• Generate, and recommend for approval, Purchase Requisitions for spare parts and maintenance consumables on a case-to-case basis.
• Prepares technical report as required by immediate superior.
• Comply with the company Safety Regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Collect Machine downtime data for machine efficiency analysis.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Provide support on machine parts inventory, machine upgrade and improvement activities.
• Recommend equipment improvement for increasing productivity and cost saving project.
• Generate, and recommend for approval, Purchase Requisitions for spare parts and maintenance consumables on a case-to-case basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement

• Bachelor's/College Degree
• Bachelor's Degree with a major in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering

Skills Set

• Can make CAD drawings based on sampled parts.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electronic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical malfunction.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Very good management and supervisory skills.
• Can work under pressure and minimal supervision.

Work Experience

• 1 to 2 years of Equipment Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting

Technical Expertise

• Sufficient experience in electro pneumatic system maintenance and troubleshooting
• Can operate hand tools and use metering devices
