Position Summary:
The
BDC Sales Manager
is a middle management leader responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of our BDC Sales team. This role is a direct intersection of strategy and execution, focused on leading and mentoring our BDC Sales Operations Leads to ensure their teams consistently meet and exceed sales and appointment-setting targets. The BDC Sales Manager will be a hands-on manager, a data-driven strategist, and a process-oriented leader who is fully accountable for the team's sales performance and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational & Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the BDC Sales Operations Leads, providing them with the guidance and support needed to succeed. Have ultimate accountability for the BDC's sales performance, including key metrics such as appointment show rates, conversion rates, and overall revenue contribution.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze BDC data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and provide key insights to the SVP Operations. Use data to refine sales strategies and processes, directly contributing to our core value that "The Data Steers Us."
- Process & Technology Optimization: Partner with IT, Training, and Operations to optimize BDC technology and workflows. Continuously refine processes to maximize efficiency and sales effectiveness, embodying our value to "Accelerate with Precision."
- Talent Development: Identify talent gaps and opportunities for growth within the BDC team. Develop and execute a plan to upskill your Leads and build a strong succession pipeline.
- Client Relationship Management: Partner with the Client Services team to ensure client satisfaction and understand client needs, acting as a key partner in driving long-term client relationships.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience in a BDC, sales, or sales operations role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity overseeing a team of leads or supervisors.
- BDC & Automotive Knowledge: In-depth, demonstrated knowledge of automotive dealership operations, sales funnels, and BDC best practices is essential.
- Leadership & Management: Proven experience in managing, coaching, and developing a team of managers or supervisors.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: The ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies and to think critically about sales and operational challenges.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Dealer Management Systems (DMS) is required.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate a strategic vision to both senior leadership and frontline teams.
