Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:

Oversee, train, and evaluate maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to policies and safety procedures.
- Maintenance Coordination:

Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and emergency repairs for building systems and equipment.
- Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety rules and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budget and Inventory Management:

Manage facility budgets, control operational costs, and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Project Management:

Coordinate facility upgrades, renovations, and potentially space planning or construction projects.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and prepare reports for management.
- Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and ensure security systems are functioning correctly.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or degree from a vocational school; a bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or a related field is often preferred.
  • Experience: Prior supervisory experience is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical), maintenance procedures, and relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills are crucial for managing teams and tasks effectively.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in maintenance (e.g., CMRP) are a plus.
