Customer Service Advocate – IT Support in the Carmona Area

Are you an experienced customer service professional with IT skills, looking for an exciting role in a fast-growing technology environment?

We are an Australian technology company based in the Melbourne Australia, expanding our operations in the video and security over IP market. As we grow, we are seeking a Customer Service Advocate with a strong technical foundation to join our team and support our customers with IT-related inquiries and troubleshooting.

About the Role

This is a full-time position on rotating rosters covering afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required. You will be part of a skilled IT and customer support team, ensuring high-quality service and technical assistance to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support to customers using security and video surveillance systems.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and live chat.
  • Troubleshoot network, security system, and software-related issues remotely.
  • Guide customers through basic troubleshooting steps and escalate complex issues to the IT support team when needed.
  • Assist with alarm and system event responses to ensure the security of client sites.
  • Document and track customer interactions and resolutions in the support system.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams to improve customer experience and resolve IT-related concerns efficiently.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong customer service experience, ideally in a technical support or IT environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and explain them in simple terms to customers.
  • A problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred but Not Mandatory):

  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of IP CCTV systems and Access Control systems (ICT Protege).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (e.g., IP addresses, routing, troubleshooting connectivity issues).
  • Previous experience in remote IT support or helpdesk is a plus.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science or Networking
  • ITIL certification is highly desirable
  • Updated passport
