About the Role:
Australia, this position is an integral part of assisting the finance manager and accounts team while also ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company's policies.
About You:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Accounts Department. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is confident managing end-to-end accounts tasks with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and creditor payments using Xero and ApprovalMax.
- Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
- Prepare and send client invoices; issue monthly statements and monitor aged receivables.
- Support with collection follow-ups, escalations and client communication when required.
Banking & Reconciliation
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile credit cards, and expense claims.
- Assist with weekly cash-flow reporting.
Payroll & HR Support
- Assist with payroll processing, timesheet checks, and verifying staff onboarding documents
- Maintain employee records through Employment Hero
Administrative & Finance Support
- Maintain accurate digital filing and document management.
- Assist in month-end activities including journals, reporting, and KPI updates.
- Liaise with internal operations teams and external stakeholders.
- Support the team with ad-hoc finance tasks
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A strong record of achievement with proven accounts and bookkeeping experience, Australian working experience is preferred
- 2-4 year experience
- A relevant business/ commerce/ accounting qualification (ideal).
- Xero accounting software (essential)
- Excellent communication skills, positioning you well to build relationships with the internal team, external service providers and clients.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel Formulas and Google applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to develop continuously, adapt and quickly learn new systems and processes.
- The ability to prioritize well, balancing quality and timeliness.
- The ability to take initiative and work effectively in a team and also work autonomously
