Position Title: IT Systems Operator

No. Required: 2

Project Contractual for 6 to 12 months

IT Systems operator shall be responsible for the day-to -day operation and monitoring of assigned IT systems (hardware, software, and equipment). The position ensures that the systems, applications, and equipment are functioning optimally and available for use.

The IT Systems operator also provides first-level technical support, performs routine system checks, and maintains the IT SYSTEM in a state of operational readiness at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the IT SYSTEM dashboard, visualization panels, and integrated data systems.
  • Ensure real-time visibility of data from electric cooperatives, energy systems, and other data sources.
  • Identify and report anomalies, system alerts, or data inconsistencies to the IT SYSTEM Supervisor or IT support team.
  • Perform data validation and ensure that displayed information is current and accurate.
  • Support IT management and stakeholders in generating reports, charts, and performance summaries.
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting for IT Application-related issues (e.g., connectivity, display errors, data synchronization).
  • Log and escalate unresolved issues to the Systems Administrator or IT Support Team for higher-level intervention.
  • Document incidents and corrective actions taken for reference and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in system updates, testing, and deployment of patches as directed.
  • Escalate unresolved incident reports within specified periods.
  • Conduct regular system checks to ensure all IT Application components, servers, and network links are operational.
  • Maintain a daily operations log of system status, events, and interventions.
  • Coordinate with IT and facilities teams for preventive and corrective maintenance of IT SYSTEM hardware and peripherals.
  • Ensure that all display devices, UPS systems, and monitoring tools are functioning properly.
  • Prepare the IT SYSTEM for official visits, presentations, and emergency operations as needed.
  • Maintain updated documentation on system configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to the IT SYSTEM Supervisor.
  • Record and track all incident reports, including root cause and resolution details.
  • Work closely with IT Manager and /Client for IT System data verification and issue resolution.
  • Support Client Operations units during emergency response and outage monitoring.
  • Participate in training and capacity-building programs related to IT SYSTEM operations and technology updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR A 2-year technical/vocational diploma in IT or computer technology with at least 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted for entry-level posts.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in IT operations, system monitoring, or network support.
  • Familiarity with Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows/Windows Server / Linux Fundamentals), Networking Essentials (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN configuration, routers, switches, firewalls), System Monitoring Tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.), Database Backup and Recovery Procedures, PC/Desktop hardware, IT network equipment, and system troubleshooting skills.

May operate on a 24/7 rotational schedule over given periods of time and is willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, or holidays if necessary.
