Storage and Backup Engineer

Core Services is on the lookout for a skilled Storage and Backup Administrator or Architect who will contribute significantly to our digital journey.
Vestas Digital Solutions oversees numerous tasks that focus on advancing and supporting the digital strategy. The Datacenter & Cloud Engineering and Services (DCES) team accelerates digital product development by providing a secure and enterprise-ready infrastructure on-prem and in the cloud.

Responsibilities
In your position as an Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to:

• Manage the Storage and Backup platform in data centers and the cloud
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation with colleagues
• Storage and Backup infrastructure (Storage appliances, SAN switches, VTL, Backup appliance, Agents, tools) upgrades hardware, firmware, or software
• Perform Full VM, VM file, and guest file level restore request
• Participate in disaster recovery exercise, design and maintain disaster recovery plans
• Show proficiency in resolving issues related to storage, SAN, and backup systems
• Work with Architects, Subject Matter Experts, Solution Designers, and engineers
• Work with the Vendor and Customer during the hardware and performance issues
• Capacity management, manage storage usage and growth projections
• Performance management, analysis, and recommending performance improvement
• Recommend permanent and temporary solutions and the next course of action to resolve problems and issues. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document RCA-based corrective action
• Develop and maintain documentation related to installation, administration, maintenance, processes, and resolutions

Qualifications
You have:

• Solid experience with remote Storage and Backup technology in an on-premises data center; any knowledge about Azure and cloud is a benefit
• Solid experience in Storage solutions for both on-premises data centers. e.g., HPE Alletra, Primer,a and StoreOnce, Dell Isilon, Qumulo
• Solid experience in Backup solutions, e.g., CommVault/Veeam/Rubrick
• It is anticipated that candidates will have significant experience with HPE Products, Qumulo, CommVault/Veeam/Rubrick, VMware, and Cisco platforms
• Configure and manage Brocade/Cisco SAN switches
• Proficiency in operating various operating systems, including Windows and Linux, for both physical and virtual environments
• Coding knowledge for the automation of infrastructure, including experience with:
• PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, etc
• Experience working with large enterprise environments and governance models.
• Experience in working with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps
• Experience with Agile ways of working and experience with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps team structure
• Experience in Cloud Technology, primarily Azure

Competencies
Working in Datacenter & Cloud, Engineering & Services naturally requires a solid technical understanding of IT infrastructures, such as on-premise data center technologies, as well as integrated hybrid solutions and platform services
