We are seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of a compliance framework across various business departments. You will ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements while driving the compliance strategy and culture. Working closely with key stakeholders, you'll provide advice on regulatory changes, process improvements, and compliance best practices. Ideal candidates must be willing to commit to a 12-month contract.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and implementation of compliance practices, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across all business functions.
  • Drive best practices in data compliance, ensuring systems such as e-ib and e-mms, Delegated Lending Approvals, loan file compliance, and funding partner reviews meet compliance requirements.
  • Manage third-party accreditation processes and conduct annual compliance reviews for branches, brokers, mortgage managers, and other distribution partners.
  • Maintain compliance reporting tools, such as the Losses Register and Compliance Calendar, ensuring accurate tracking and timely follow-up of action items.
  • Assist in planning and conducting compliance and operational audits, addressing findings with the Credit Risk Manager and proposing necessary remedial actions.
  • Perform systems and process testing (e.g., e-mms servicing, business rules) and document results with recommended improvements.
  • Provide regulatory guidance, supporting the creation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, including consumer credit, AML, and privacy regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including ASIC, AUSTRAC, ACMA, and OAIC guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Amenable to a 12-month contract.
  • 3+ years in a compliance role, ideally within Banking or Financial Services, with expertise in Mortgage Origination, Management, and Securitization.
  • Strong understanding of financial services legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in implementing frameworks, processes, and training to meet regulatory needs.
  • Skilled in using data to drive operational improvements and identify trends.
  • Experience in customer-centric environments, focusing on customer needs in decision-making.
  • Proven relationship management skills to support organizational change and ensure compliance.
  • Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management (or related field) preferred.
