Job Description: Accountant / Bookkeeper:We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage financial reporting, tax compliance, and daily accounting tasks. The role involves preparing financial statements, handling BAS/IAS submissions, completing tax returns, and ensuring accurate account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts.
  • Prepare and submit BAS and IAS.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Record and analyze asset, liability, and capital account entries.
  • Perform monthly journal entries and support account closing activities.
  • Handle other ad hoc accounting and compliance tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, and Australian tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
  • CPA or equivalent qualification (preferred but not required).
