
Assistant Accounting Manager

Job Description:
The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely reporting. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing financial transactions, and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the accounting team (e.g., accounts payable, receivable, general ledger).
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., PFRS/IFRS).
- Ensure compliance with BIR and other government regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
- Maintain internal controls and recommend improvements to processes and systems.
- Coordinate with external auditors and consultants.
- Manage payroll accounting and bank reconciliations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)license is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in tax compliance, audit, and financial reporting is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and PFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
