About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our growing QA team. This role is fully remote (WFH) and aligned to an Australian client on dayshift hours, offering international exposure while maintaining work-life balance.

You will start with manual testing and quickly transition into automation, helping us build a robust framework that ensures quality across backend, frontend, and APIs. This role also includes application-level security testing, giving you the opportunity to broaden your QA expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing, then move into automation
  • Design, build, and maintain automated tests using Playwright
  • Conduct API and application-level security testing (OWASP ZAP)
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to define test strategies and ensure production readiness
  • Document test cases and results using JIRA

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in software testing (manual + automation)
  • Strong experience with Playwright for frontend automation
  • Hands-on knowledge of API testing and security testing (OWASP ZAP)
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
  • Independent, proactive, and able to take ownership of QA processes

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PHPUnit (Laravel), Jest (Node/TypeScript)
  • Performance testing tools (JMeter, Lighthouse)
  • Postman for API documentation
