The Customs Declarant is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, declaration, and submission of import and export entries to the Bureau of Customs. The role ensures full compliance with applicable customs laws, regulations, and internal company procedures, supporting efficient clearance and delivery of cargo.

  • Prepare and lodge accurate customs declarations (import/export) using E2M or other applicable platforms.
  • Classify goods using the appropriate tariff codes under the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN).
  • Coordinate with importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and government agencies to gather all necessary documents for clearance.
  • Monitor the status of shipments and ensure on-time release from customs.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in documentation, values, and duties and escalate issues as needed.
  • Advise clients on regulatory requirements and customs procedures relevant to their shipments.
  • Ensure full compliance with Bureau of Customs rules, including post-entry audits and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assist in resolving customs holds, alerts, or disputes in coordination with relevant parties.
  • Maintain knowledge of changes in customs regulations and industry practices.
  • Monitor delivery schedules to confirm that shipments are properly released and delivered to their destination.
  • Upon receiving pre-alerts, review and check all required documents to identify and resolve potential issues prior to lodgment.
  • Coordinate directly with the Bureau of Customs to facilitate clearance, resolve concerns, and support smooth cargo release.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, International Trade, or related field
  • Licensed Customs Broker or with prior experience in customs declaration
  • Familiarity with the E2M system and other customs processing tools
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, INCOTERMS, and import/export documentation
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and customs software
  • Experience liaising with the Bureau of Customs and government regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA, BAI, DA, DTI)
