About the Role:

The Payroll Officer plays a critical role in producing high-volume payrolls, interpreting employment conditions (Awards, EBAs, AWAs), and managing end-to-end payroll administration. You'll collaborate closely with the Finance, Administration, and Operations teams, and contribute to the integrity and efficiency of payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payrolls for internal staff and on-hire workers promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, invoices, and statutory returns.
  • Ensure accurate application of all relevant Awards, EBAs, and employment agreements.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure up-to-date database entries.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and compute PAYG, payroll tax, and other employer contributions.
  • Manage the transfer of data between payroll and accounting platforms (Qlicr to Xero).
  • Assist in onboarding, training, and supporting new payroll staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of payroll data and personnel files.
  • Supervise EFT wage payments and manage overpayments
  • Produce annual payment summaries and assist with end-of-year reconciliations
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure payroll data security

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant payroll experience in a high-volume environment; recruitment industry exposure is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian legislation, Awards, EBAs, and AWA compliance.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable/receivable is an advantage.
  • Exposure to FastTrack, Greentree, or similar payroll software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and adaptable to new systems
  • Excellent time management, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong client-service orientation, particularly toward operational staff.
  • Strong service mentality and communication skills
  • High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism under pressure.
  • Must be willing to report onsite at Arcovia, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm)
