Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Leads and executes process engineering related activities to assure the maturity level of newly developed technical textile harnesses from conceptualization to SOP.
  • Critically reviews customer drawings of textile harnesses, evaluating compatibility with existing equipment and process capabilities to identify, plan and execute improvements as necessary.
  • Where needed, proposes design modifications in compliance with customer requirements to reduce complexity of labor and potential risks, and optimize process costs.
  • Defines production process and material flow during process feasibility studies (PFS) of newly produced textile harnesses, including calculation of cycle times based on machine capabilities, test data and MTM analysis, and validates them through and OEE data.
  • Creates, reviews and maintains PPFC, P-FMEA, WI and other related documents and can readily instruct operators and technicians on their proper implementation.
  • Plans, supervises and supports the prototype sample build and ramp-up on site until SOP.
  • Ensures production capabilities meet customer requirements and QA standards by optimizing machine parameter settings, fixture designs, workstation set-up and sequence of manual operations.
  • Monitors OEE data and drives continuous improvement in assigned areas of responsibility with new innovative solutions.
  • Regularly reports and aligns scheduled activities with cross-functional international team, PMO and supervisor, with transparency, sense of ownership and urgency if required. Even under pressure, communication is expected to be fact driven and clear.
  • Proactively contributes to uphold production KPIs and supports production when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent (i.e. Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) with proven experience of minimum 3 years in the field of process engineering and/or manufacturing of textile harnesses.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering principles, as well as related processes related to manufacturing textile harnesses. Results-driven hands-on mentality.
  • Proven successful project completion and product launch from concept to SOP in previous employment. Sense of ownership during and after launch.
  • Proficiency with MLA tools such as PFMEA, PPFC, WI, control plans, 8D, PPAP, PDCA.
  • Proven extensive knowledge of production concepts such as 6S, Kaizen, OEE, TPM, SMED.
  • Analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving methodology.
  • Fact-driven, clear and transparent communication in advanced written and oral English and ability to work with cross-functional international team through all levels in the organization.
