Assistant Manager Process Engineering

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads and executes process engineering activities to ensure the maturity level of newly developed wire harnesses, from conceptualization through prototyping and realization to SOP.
• Critically reviews customer wire harness drawings, evaluating compatibility with existing equipment and process capabilities to identify, plan, and execute necessary improvements.
• Proposes design modifications, when needed, in compliance with industry standards and regulations such as IEC, UL, and RoHS, as well as customer requirements, to reduce labor complexity, mitigate potential risks, and optimize process costs.
• Defines the production process and material flow during process feasibility studies (PFS) for newly produced wire harnesses, including the calculation of cycle times based on machine capabilities, test data, and MTM analysis, and validates them through and OEE data.
• Creates, reviews, and maintains PPFC, P-FMEA, WI, and other related documents, and is capable of instructing operators and technicians on their proper implementation.
• Plans, supervises, and supports prototype sample builds and ramp-up on-site until SOP.
• Ensures production capabilities meet customer requirements and QA standards, such as ISO and IPC, by optimizing machine parameter settings, fixture designs, workstation setups, and the sequence of manual operations.
• Monitors OEE data and drives continuous improvement in assigned areas through innovative solutions.
• Regularly reports and aligns scheduled activities with the cross-functional international team, PMO, and supervisor with transparency, a sense of ownership, and urgency when required. Even under pressure, communication is expected to be fact-driven and clear.
• Proactively contributes to upholding production KPIs and provides production support when needed.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering), with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in process engineering for wiring harnesses, electrical connector manufacturing, or related components.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering principles, as well as wiring harness and connector-related processes. Results-driven with a hands-on mentality.
• Proven track record of successful project completion and product launches from concept to SOP in previous roles, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership during and after launch.
• Proficiency in MLA tools, including PFMEA, PPFC, WI, control plans, 8D, PPAP, and PDCA.
• Comprehensive knowledge of production concepts such as 6S, Kaizen, OEE, TPM, and SMED.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Fact-driven, clear, and transparent communicator, with advanced written and spoken English skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional international teams at all levels of the organization.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to Japan, China, and the U.S.
