About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our R&D and Training Team at Lola Cafe' in Quezon City, Metro Manila. As a full-time Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for developing innovative pastry recipes, providing training and support to our kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in all our dessert offerings.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop new and exciting pastry recipes to expand our dessert menu
  2. Conduct hands-on training sessions to upskill our kitchen team on the latest pastry techniques and trends
  3. Ensure consistent execution and presentation of all pastry items across our cafes
  4. Monitor inventory levels and recommend new ingredients or equipment to improve efficiency
  5. Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious flavour profiles between desserts and savoury dishes
  6. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards

What we're looking for

  1. At least 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  2. Strong technical skills in baking, pastry production, and dessert plating
  3. Proficient knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and recipe development
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively train and manage the pastry team
  5. Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest pastry trends and techniques
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines
  7. Culinary diploma or degree from a reputable institution
