The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and ensuring timely delivery of construction materials, tools, and services needed for ongoing projects. This role works closely with project engineers, site foremen, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement that supports smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers of construction materials, tools, and services.
  • Request and compare quotations to secure the best pricing and terms.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
  • Monitor inventory of construction supplies and anticipate material requirements for projects.
  • Coordinate with site engineers/foremen on project material needs and delivery schedules.
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials to construction sites.
  • Resolve discrepancies, shortages, or quality issues with vendors.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, price lists, and supplier databases.
  • Ensure compliance with budget, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in the construction industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word) and familiarity with basic inventory tracking.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Must be willing to visit suppliers or construction sites when needed.
  • Must be willing to work on-site and during Saturday,
