Business Systems Analyst – Insurance/Financial Services

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Agile delivery team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum environments, working across integration, underwriting, and custom application projects. This role requires a strong mix of business understanding, stakeholder management, and analytical capability to bridge business needs with technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Systems Analysis
- Gather, document, and manage business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation aligned with Agile delivery standards.
- Analyze business workflows, systems, and integration points to identify improvement opportunities.
Agile Collaboration
- Work closely with Scrum teams (Developers, Testers, Product Owners) to refine user stories and ensure accurate delivery of requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Validate deliverables and perform unit or manual testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Act as a liaison between business users, clients, and technical teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, demos, and UAT sessions with clients and internal teams.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on business objectives and project scope.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Prepare functional specifications, process flows, and business requirement documents (BRDs).
- Support integration and underwriting projects, validating system interactions and data flow.
- Contribute to custom application projects with strong functional and validation expertise.
Required Qualifications
Required (Non-Negotiable):
- 5–7 years of proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong understanding of requirement management, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience in stakeholder management and client-facing engagements.
- Hands-on experience with unit testing or manual validation of requirements.
- Exposure to underwriting processes, business systems, or integration projects.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, Testers, Product Owners).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in custom application development projects.
- Background in insurance or financial services industries.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar Agile/project management tools.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system integration concepts.
