Job Summary

The Pit Boss oversees the table games area (the "pit") to ensure smooth operations, compliance with gaming regulations, strong customer service, and protection of casino assets. They supervise dealers, handle player issues, monitor gameplay for fraud or advantage play, and maintain a safe and fair gaming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise all table games and dealers within the assigned pit area
  • Ensure accuracy in card/table procedures and payouts
  • Monitor table limits, player ratings, and chip inventories
  • Resolve table disputes, game interruptions, and operational concerns

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce casino policies and local gaming regulatory laws
  • Detect cheating, collusion, advantage play, and unusual behavior
  • Coordinate with surveillance and security teams on incidents

Customer Service

  • Greet and engage VIPs and high-value players
  • Handle player complaints and maintain a positive guest experience
  • Promote responsible gambling and intervene when needed

People Supervision

  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate dealers' performance
  • Manage dealer rotations, breaks, and table assignments
  • Report any performance or disciplinary issues to management

Administration & Reporting

  • Document incidents, player ratings, and financial variances
  • Validate credit markers and high-value chip transactions
  • Assist in game audits and shift handovers

Qualifications

  • College level or degree preferred (Hospitality, Business, or related field)
  • Prior experience as Dealer or Table Games Supervisor is required
  • Strong knowledge of multiple casino games (Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, Poker, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • High integrity, attention to detail, strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work irregular schedules (nights, weekends, holidays)
