Senior Backend Engineer

What You'll Do

  • Be a 
    technical role model
     — your standards in code quality, delivery, and collaboration will inspire others.
  • Partner closely with our 
    Head of Engineering
     to define and execute long-term technical strategy.
  • Lead the backend roadmap — designing architecture, defining standards, and ensuring consistency across services and documentation.
  • Mentor and support
     junior engineers, cultivating a culture of thoughtful, constructive code reviews.
  • Drive 
    continuous improvement
     with pragmatic, delivery-focused decisions that balance speed and scalability.
  • Collaborate with product teams to deeply understand 
    user needs
    , ensuring our solutions are both technically elegant and user-centric.
  • Take ownership like a true 
    Manager of One
     — defining your path, managing your priorities, and driving meaningful impact.

 
What You Bring

  • 4+ years of professional experience in 
    web application development
    .
  • Proven experience working with 
    cross-functional product teams
     and collaborating closely with Product Managers.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Python
     for microservices design and development.
  • PostgreSQL
     and 
    MongoDB
     for schema design, data modeling, and optimization.
  • Redis
     for caching and performance improvement.
  • Authentication & Authorization
     (secure API design and access control).
  • Database query optimization
     and indexing.
  • Solid understanding of 
    design patterns
    , 
    test-driven development
    , and 
    software engineering best practices
    .
  • Passion for 
    clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
     — backed by strong unit and integration test discipline.
