We are supporting a fast-growing international technology company in building its new software development hubs in Manila and Bangkok. The client is establishing several specialised Java engineering teams and is now looking for experienced Senior Java Developers to join their core setup.

This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high-performance systems while collaborating with global development teams and shaping the future of a modern engineering culture in Asia.

About the Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be part of a multinational Scrum team responsible for designing, developing, and optimising backend systems. You'll take part in architecture discussions, create new functionalities, and contribute to technical improvements across distributed applications.

The company maintains separate frontend and backend teams — this is a pure backend engineering role, ideal for professionals with strong Java expertise and experience in scalable, high-availability systems.

Key Responsibilities


• Participate in architectural design and contribute to the technical roadmap.


• Develop and maintain new features using Java and related frameworks.


• Conduct technical analysis, performance optimisation, and code reviews.


• Implement clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.


• Build microservices and distributed systems with a focus on reliability and performance.


• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.


• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

Requirements


• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (8+) in backend development.


• Solid understanding of Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices architectures.


• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed systems.


• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.


• Practical experience with REST APIs and messaging technologies (AMQP, JMS, Kafka, or similar).


• Familiarity with ORM principles, unit testing, and CI/CD tools.


• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in a global team.


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


• Experience with ETL processes, Clean Architecture, or design patterns (OOP, MVC).


• Basic exposure to Docker, Gradle, or Maven.


• Previous experience in the iGaming industry
