JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Associate is primarily responsible for the day-to-day administration of payroll and statutory benefits, tax reporting, final pay and government agencies coordination through partnership with all the other HR sub-departments, Finance Team and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Run payroll and generate files for check printing and bank deposit
  • Ensure that payroll processing and payroll validation are done efficiently and error-free to achieve the company's service level goals
  • Prepare and monitor period increase/decrease activity of Gross and Net Payroll figures and count
  • Balance and analyze general ledger figures and report to immediate leader any discrepancies (abnormal high and lows)
  • Reconcile various payroll reports, analyze and conduct research on discrepancies and source
  • Perform the semi-monthly and quarterly balancing and analysis of payroll register
  • Process/compute last pay of terminated and/or resigned employees
  • Initiate problem resolution and communication to counterparts or proper division contacts
  • Assist in the resolution of discrepancies in payroll, and take proper corrective action to achieve compliance and accuracy
  • Prepare alphabetical list of employees for submission to BIR including payroll register reconciliation versus 1601C & 1604CF
  • Prepare required statutory reports and/or payments to government agencies and other organizations
  • Compile periodic and special reports on payroll matters
  • Attend to employees' requests for printing of pay slips and reissuance of Certificate of Compensation Payment/Tax Withheld
  • Update the policies and procedures for payroll administration and processing
  • Ensure compliance with internal control standards, established policy, procedures, and requirements
  • Assist in finding opportunity areas, designing new processes, and implementing new/improved solutions to improve results and increase productivity
  • Support activities leading to improvement of effectiveness/quality of payroll work
  • Assist in the periodic review of departmental operating procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Act as a point of escalation for general queries regarding payroll processing and time management
  • Interface with external and internal customers
  • Provide regular update on accomplishments and challenges related to Payroll
  • Maintain monthly payroll scorecard, including issue and resolution tracking
  • Other duties that may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resource Management, Psychology, or other similar courses
  • Preferably with six (6) months to one (1) year relevant working experience
  • Preferably with SAP background
  • With basic knowledge on Labor Law and Taxation
  • Possesses excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to deliver results
  • Organized and has great attention to details
  • Able to build good working relationship and deal with different types of individuals
  • Adaptable and can handle stressful and high pressure situations
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Applications, GSuite)
