Job Summary

The Structural Engineer – Design Department is responsible for the structural analysis, design, and review of buildings and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, compliance with applicable codes, and cost-effective solutions. The role supports multidisciplinary coordination and provides technical expertise from concept design through construction documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural designs, calculations, and drawings for buildings and infrastructure projects (e.g., concrete, steel, and composite structures).
  • Perform structural analysis using applicable software and engineering principles.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEPFS, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for structural compliance.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including site queries, design clarifications, and value engineering proposals.
  • Assist in developing design standards, guidelines, and best practices within the department.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to project documentation and submissions.
  • Support junior engineers and drafters through guidance and design review.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred or required, depending on company policy).
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in structural design (buildings or infrastructure).
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, and foundation design.
  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit Structure.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NSCP, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced design environment.

Preferred Competencies
  • Experience in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, MRT/LRT, or industrial facilities).
  • Exposure to BIM-based structural design.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Work Environment
  • Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
  • May require coordination with project teams, consultants, and contractors.
