The People Operations Associate (Payroll Focus) is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll while supporting general HR operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining employee data, ensuring compliance with labor and tax regulations, and assisting with various HR processes such as benefits administration and employee documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management

  • Prepare, review, and process end-to-end payroll for all employees in compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Validate attendance, leave, and other pay-related data prior to payroll cut-off.
  • Ensure accurate computation of salaries, deductions, incentives, and government contributions.
  • Generate payroll reports and facilitate salary disbursement and payslip distribution.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

HR Operations Support

  • Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and other HR-related documentation.
  • Assist in the processing and remittance of government-mandated benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring completion of payroll and benefits requirements.
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll funding, journal entries, and other reconciliations.
  • Assist in HR analytics, such as headcount, attendance, and payroll cost reporting.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure payroll practices are compliant with labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Participate in audits and ensure timely submission of required reports.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in payroll or HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws and statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and MS Excel or Google Sheets.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with HRIS or payroll software (e.g., Sprout, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Background in compensation and benefits or timekeeping.
  • Experience in fast-paced or scaling organizations.
