The Accounting Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls. This role manages the preparation of financial statements, coordinates audits, supervises staff, and provides strategic financial guidance to support the company's goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Oversee and review daily accounting activities including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for management.

Compliance and Internal Control

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and company policies.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits.

Team Supervision and Development

  • Supervise and train accounting staff to ensure high performance and adherence to deadlines.
  • Delegate and review tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or guidance when necessary.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track budget performance and report variances to management.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support automation initiatives or system enhancements within the accounting function.

Coordination and Communication

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper recording and reporting of financial data.
  • Provide financial insights and support to management for strategic planning and decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
