The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls. This role manages the preparation of financial statements, coordinates audits, supervises staff, and provides strategic financial guidance to support the company's goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards

  • Monitor and analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

  • Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including accountants and bookkeepers.

  • Assign tasks, review work, and evaluate staff performance to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide training to enhance team knowledge of accounting practices and systems.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Track budget performance and report variances to management.

  • Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and company policies.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing all necessary documentation.
  • Maintain and improve internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.

  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Oversee cash management, including monitoring receivables, payables, and banking activities.

  • Review and approve disbursements, payroll, and expense reports.

  • Systems & Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.

  • Work with IT/Finance teams to maintain and upgrade accounting software or ERP systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
